Born on St. Patrick's Day (Thursday, March 17, 2011) at 6:55 am. Our little good luck charm!

Our story starts on Tuesday 3.15.2011, Jesse and I were sitting watching TV that evening and he turns and asks me, "Should I keep carpooling into work or should I start driving in just in case you go into labor?" I thought for a split second, "Na! You are fine to keep carpooling. I think it will be a few more days." HA!!! Famous last words!
I get to work the next day and we had a final meeting to make sure we had everything covered for when I left. Then missy C and I went and moved her desk over to mine, then went and ate lunch. I was feeling great! We get upstairs at about 1 pm, started working and I go to the copy machine to scan an order to the factory and........... my water breaks!!!! My heart started bounding and I thought to myself "did I just pee my pants? How embarrassing! No.... wait! I think my water broke!"
So I waddle to the bathroom and I passed C and told her that I think my water had just broken, and the first thing out of her mouth was, "I haven't read that chapter yet!" My cute friend was going to read "what to do when you go into labor at work" so that she could help me if this happened. Well indeed my water did break! I called Jesse on our way out to the car.
"Honey, um..... you won't believe this BUT my water just broke!"
"Are you sure you didn't just pee your pants?"
"Yeah!"
"Um... okay. (Insert him panicking and frantically shutting down his computer and gathering his stuff). Let me see if I can catch a ride to my car. See ya in a bit. Love ya!"
"Okay! Hurry! I love you too!"
Missy C drove me to IMC and we were both laughing that this is all happening like this! I was so excited and nervous! I check into the hospital, get changed into the loverly hospital gown and the nurse start getting me hooked up to all the machines. With in the next ten minutes my mom was there and then a few minutes after that my dad made it. All the sudden Jesse showed up at 2 pm! If you remember right I called him at 1 pm and it takes about a little more than an hour for him to get to our place in Draper! Once he got to his car he FLEW up to the hospital!! Thats my babe!!
Well, when I got to the hospital I was dialating at all. So they put me on potocin to help, but I think it may have slowed things down. My contractions started and actually got close together. By 3 pm my contractions were 1:30 to 2 minutes apart, so with the history of my moms side of delivering their babies super fast I was thinking that would happen. So I decided to get my epidural.
In the evening our Doctor made it downstairs and checked me. Jesse asked him if we would be having a baby tonight or if we will have a St. Paddy's day baby? And he said for sure a St. Paddy's day baby!
17 hours after my water broke, I started pushing at 6 am and our beautiful baby girl was born at 6:55 am! She was 7 lbs 2 oz and 22 inches.
She is the sweetest, cutest baby and we are so blessed to have her here with us!!

Time for an update!

Well, I think it is finally time for an update! What do you think?

We are in our 32nd week! Craaazy! Where has the time gone!
We are so excited and nervous, but can't wait to have our cute little girl here to hold and love. Here are a couple of pics.

Here I am at...

At this point she was breech. And our doctor told us that she should flip in a couple of weeks or so. Our doctor is amazing! I have no idea how he could tell that she was breech by pressing on my stomach just a couple times.

I have popped! This picture was just taken on Saturday and I have grown even farther since. We saw the doctor on Friday and our little girl has flipped! No more breech. Wahoo!

I can feel her moving all the time and I LOVE it!! Any chance that I get, I will grab Jesse's hand and have him feel her. His eyes get wide and he will say, "Holy Cow baby girl!"

We get alot of movement out of her after I eat chocolate (She is definitely our child! She is taking after Grandpa Flavel and Grandpa Ryan for sure!) In fact, I just had some cookies and cream ice cream (yum!) and she is going crazy right now.

Yep, it is true! We are pregnant with a little baby girl!!! Jesse and I are so excited to have her join our family on March 22. That makes us just a little over 6 months (25 weeks to be exact, but who is counting!).

We saw the doctor on Friday and went through her test results from the 21st week ultra sound and everything is perfect! She is right on track!

I am so thankful to my Heavenly Father for this opportunity. He has been blessing us so much and I am so grateful!!

We can't wait until she is here with us!

Here are some more things that happened in our fam in good ol' 2009!

Our first niece was born! Kyla Jean Meikle!!

Now she is nine months old and crawling!! She is the cutest thing!!!

We had an amazing Christmas!

We also got to attend many BYU sport events. I love going to the games!

I look back and can't believe how much Jesse and I have grown and matured over the past year and a half. It is amazing how Heavenly Father answers your prayers. And prepares you for what may come.

We are truly blessed! We have incredible parents, siblings, extended family and friends. We couldn't ask for anything more!

'09 was filled with a few struggles here and there, but there were so many fun and exciting things that happened.

Good evening my fellow bloggers! I know there are no excuses, so I am so very sorry that I haven't blogged in FOR-EV-ER!!!! I have been working on a few things and will hopefully have time to post them this weekend. I do miss blogging and have a new goal to blog at least once every week!
Jesse and I have had a great year and I can't wait to share it with you! We have been busy working, spending time together (and with Beamer!), dancing, crafting, being with family and oh so much more! So I will update you all soon, I promise!

It was Jesse's Birthday on June 17th! I made him his favorite dinner, spaghetti, and also his favorite cake, "Rainbow Chip"! Here is a picture of him blowing out all of his candles!

To celebrate his birthday, we went and saw Transformers 2 this last Wednesday. It was incredible! We both loved it! It is jam packed with action from the beginning to the end. We highly recommend seeing it.

Hello everyone! It has been a long time since I have blogged and I apologize. These last few months have been fun and crazy! We had dance competitions that were so fun and all the girls did great!!! We are very proud of them! Also, Jess and I have just been working and loving every minute we get to spend time together. He is taking a nap right now and there is a storm rolling in right as we speak. I had planned to go out and bask in the sun in a few minutes and read, but not now. I would get blown away!
Anyway, there is alot I need to catch you up on, so here it goes!!!
1st of all I need to send out a very very late "Happy Birthday" to Pyper, Nate and my Mom! Love you guys!!

My cute friend, Kelsey, graduated from BYU-Idaho in April! I am very proud of her! Go Kels!

And, guess what!?! We had a "Wicked" Easter!!! We got to go see "Wicked" and it was incredible!! It gave me chills. I loved it!!!

And last but not least, Kesh and Nate are having a baby GIRL! I am so so excited for them. And Jesse and I can't wait to spoil our first niece!

The Life of the Thorns

Hello everyone! We just wanted to fill you in on what we have been up to the past couple of months. First of all if you have look back at pictures of Jesse and I you may have noticed that Jesse has lost quite a bit of weight. We didn't know what was going on. He would eat almost twice as much as he normally would, His heart started racing, like he had been running a marathon, but it was like that all the time. He started radiating heat (which was one plus. When I get cold I just snuggle up to him). And he would shake (one of the side effects of his heart pumping so fast). Well he went to his doc. and had a physical done and they found that his Thryoid was was working to much, which is called "Hyper thryoidism." So we went to a specialist and he ran some tests and comformed that it is "Hyper." So as a result to all this, Jess is taking meds, much to his dismay, everyday. His is slowly feeling better, especially after this week. Uncle Tim came in to town and worked on Jess and it made him feel alot better. So thank you so much Uncle Tim. We also want to thank our parents and siblings and extended family for helping us through this also.

So with work and dance being busy season, I am a little stressed out. So I have found that I love get my stress out by doing crafts. Oh, I love sewing on my sewing machine. I have made really cute table runners, pillows for my sofa and chair, and rice bags for my sister. The next project is a secret, so stay posted.

Here is the rice bag that my sister, Krystal, and I made last weekend when she came over for the weekend.

Jesse and I had to run to the store the other day and guess what time it is!?! Girl Scout Cookie time! Jesse went bonkers! He was so excited to get his all time fav, Samoas. And I got a box of Thin Mints. Yummy!!

Last but not least, I am trying to find a new fragrance for Jesse. I went into the new Nordstrom at Fashion Place (which was amazing by the way! You must go!!), and went over and tested some of the new Men's fragrances. So tell me your opinon.

1)Giorgio Armani Diamonds (This is my pick. I love Acqua Di Gio and they are kind of similar)

2)Burnberry The Beat

So if you are at a department store stop for a minute and smell these and others and tell me what your vote is.

Hey everyone! Sorry it has taken me so long to blog. I have no excuses at all (sorry Candice and Amber, luv you guys!)! 1st of all I changed our picture at the top, I thought it was stinkin funny so I thought I would try it. Anyway, the past couple months have been crazy but so much fun! We love spending time with each other and especially with our families! I must say this has been the best Thanksgiving and Christmas ever! Enough with me talking, here is what we have been up to.

Jess and I got to go down to warm sunny St. George for Thanksgiving this year. What a blast! My cousin Raelynn and her husband, Travis, and 4 boys live there and have an amazing house!!! It is so big, all of my family could fit in without any problem what so ever. We love it down there and want to visit Raelynn alot! Love ya!

I got tagged! Here are 2-7 Random/weird facts about me.

1. I love Country music! Jesse and my parents tease me about my twanging music, but I love it! It is good music and has good messages, most of the time.

2. Bubble Gum ice cream is my weakness! If you want to win me over, all you need to do is hand over the Bubble Gum ice cream. And I am all yours!

3. I treat my Puppy like a baby. (Jesse told me this one, and I admit it, it is true!).

4. I like to drive fast! Jesse and I sometimes will have races when we are driving separate cars home. I love it! It is an addiction! And of course, the best part is red lining it and beating the other cars.

5. I can't go to bed before midnight for some reason. Well actually I do know why. When I was in High School I had a drill, I also danced with a dance studio and had homework. So by the time I got home got homework done it was about midnight. It just has stuck with me. Jesse isn't a big fan of it!

6. Hold the Tomatoes and Pickles, please! I do not like tomatoes or pickles, my mother made me eat them.

7. Jesse and I love to watch cartons! We love Avatar, and all the other fun ones!

Jesse and I decided to spoil ourselves a little early for Christmas this year. We found an amazing deal on this Entertainment Center through my work and decided to make a purchase. We just got it delivered last weekend and we love it!

Can I just tell you I hate being sick! I came down with something (I don't even know what it is), it started Monday and really hit me hard last night after dance. I have a headache and a really really sore throat. Let me tell you, it is not fun! I am at home trying to get better, but I get so bored just sitting around. So while I have been sitting on my butt I have watched my favorite movie "White Christmas" twice already! (Jesse makes fun of me because I watch movies two or three times in a row before switching it for a new movie. I am weird!) I've eaten Chicken Noodle soup and have been downing OJ and listening to Beamer bark. So eventful! But the good thing is that I have been able to sleep a little bit and am feeling a little bit better. My sweet mom and Jesse keep checking on me making sure that I am okay. You guys are the best!

Jesse and I had a crazy weekend, but it ended great! We went with Ryan, Robin and the girls to two family parties. Our cousin Aaron's Birthday and our cousin Heather's college graduation party, that is were we took this cool picture. Behind us is a very large Weeping Willow that is very old, and also a small river. We love it so much that Robin took a picture of us. Thanks Mom! The parties were great and we want to wish Aaron a "Happy Birthday" and Heather "Congratulations."

Jesse and I got to go golfing with Ryan and Robin and the girls (Pyper and Oakley) on Labor day up at Homestead in Midway! It was a blast! The first 9 holes it rained on us, but we played a few holes and then decided to go eat something and wait it out. Of course, right when we sat down to eat it cleared up and the sun came out. It was perfect! After lunch, we hopped back on our carts and headed out! We finished the last 9 holes and Ryan kick our butts! He is amazing! Go dad!! Jesse and I need some practicing (more me), but we'll get there! We had a blast and can't wait to go again!

Have you ever felt like you give your 100% to your employer only to be slapped down with a minuscule hourly wage? Well for quite a while I felt like I didn't fit into that category until just a couple of weeks ago. I'm sure many of you can relate when you check your checking account and aren't surprised when only a few cob webs show up on your "free" online banking site. Justine and I have hit that wall and hard these past few weeks, well mostly me but I think Justine feels the same. So I'm back on the trail to find the job that I just love to do and pays me more than a couple bucks here and there.
Currently I work for one of the banks in Utah, and there is a common misconception that I didn't realize when I first started working for a Bank. Back in the day, people were awe-inspired when they'd go to a bank to get a loan, open an account or anything like that. They'd see the banker in his/her professional attire and for the most part the banker was well paid for his services. Now lets flash forward to today's bank. With the technology era that we have, it's all online and banks are as common as McDonald's or Wendy's, and have just as many competitors. Instead of which fries are better, it's which bank has fewest fees, and which gives more free stuff. The part that is getting me right now is that if I dare say that official checks aren't free, then for the rest of the transaction, I get to listen as my "loyal" customer rakes me over the coals with how I'm ripping them off. Hum... interesting... I wonder if they yell at the McDonald's cashier about having to pay almost $4 for a hamburger? Do they tell the cashier that McDonald's is a rip off too? I haven't heard that yet. Another one I hear almost daily is this...(I wonder if they had this problem back in the day as well?)...

Customer: I have a problem with my account, and you're stealing my money!
Me: I'm sorry that you're upset, let's look at your account and see what happened?!?
Customer: I know what happened, you're stealing my money!!
Me: Well, let me get your account number and we'll find the error.
Customer: I don't have my account number.
(They called a bank, and they don't have their account number. OK.)
Me: Well then can I get your social security number so I can find your information?
(Social is given, account is found and a review taken place, upon I find that this customer has spent more money that what was in their account. Like all banks, the institution I work for pays the largest item first, so your mortgage or car payment doesn't bounce, and if you spend more money than you have, you'll get an overdraft fee.)
Me: Well it looks like you spent more money that you had. It was at the 4th transaction out of 20 that came through your account where it went negative.
Customer: You should have paid the smaller ones first so I didn't get so many overdraft charges.
Me: Well, if we did that your mortgage payment would have bounced.
Customer: Well, that's not fair!! I'm closing my account!
(At this point, the customer goes on this long story about how their life sucks and because of me they won't have any money to eat.)
Me: I'm sorry. Do you use a register to keep track of your money you have so you won't have to pay these fees?
Customer: That is your job.
Me: No it's not. That is why we provide registers for you to keep track.
Customer: Well I use online banking.
Me: Online banking is a tool to help you keep track on your register. Online banking isn't there when and where you spend your money. We can't see checks you've written, or if you've used your card at certain places. We have to rely on the store to tell us. You're the only one who knows when you spend your money.
Customer: Well, I'm going to close my account because you're fees are too high.
(No where is there ever any sign that the customer realizes that it's their fault.)
Me: Well, if you're going to close you're account then we will not be able to help with the fees. I'm sorry.
Customer: Let me talk to your manager!
Me: OK, let me get her for you.

As you can see I get paid very well to have these conversations, over, and over, and over again. So as the title states, I'm currently looking so as to not have to deal with these special customers that can't keep track of what they're doing. The list goes on as to why I'm job hunting, but I won't bore you anymore with those details. Maybe Justine will add a blog that will be happier, but right now I'm irritated.

The Edge of the World

Like our profile says we live in Eagle Mountain, UT. However, most people have decided to call it, "The Edge of the World." For those of you who don't know where Eagle Mountain is, it is located in the hills west of Utah Lake. If you are thinking that is where Lehi is, you haven't gone west enough. You know you're in the right place when you can take your 4-wheeler out of your garage, go down the street and run into the mountain trails. It's our little piece of heaven. Not only do we have some the best neighbors in the world, we can still see stars and constellations at night. However, living on the Edge of the World does have it's drawbacks. We have at least an extra 30 minutes to add on to any drive we have to make. We don't have many modern conveniences so yep, another nice long drive to the grocery store for a simple gallon of milk. Thank goodness our Honda gets good gas milage. Justine and I both work up in Salt Lake City so we feel like we live in LA because it takes us around an hour to get to work. It's a good thing that I like to drive. We're still in the development stages out here and that makes things a bit difficult. We only have single lane roads everywhere we go, so when that person who is too busy doing whatever it is that's more important than driving, we get stuck behind that person. NO FUN!! So because we have chosen this Edge of Map to live on we felt that it would be the perfect title to our blog.
